In this 7-week program, participants will immerse themselves in the process of workshopping an original musical.
Performers will read and sing through new material and work closely with the creative team as they further develop the book, lyrics, and music. You can also "audit" the workshop as a non-performing participant. Both performers and auditors will have the opportunity to give insight on the script, help with character development, and witness firsthand the creative process of making a brand-new musical! The program will end with a reading in which performers will read/sing through the show in front of a live audience of family, friends, and the general public. |
AGES 14-22
THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROCESS:
1. AUDITION - After video auditions are submitted, 9 participants will be selected to participate in the process as the performers (7 characters, 2 swings/narrators). Please note that it is important to be willing to learn and adjust quickly (including doing some work at home), since material is subject to change week to week. If you are not selected to participate as a performer, you can still participate in the workshop process (see #2). 2. REGISTER AS AN AUDITOR - If you are interested in joining the workshop as an auditor, you will still attend all sessions, learn about the process of creating a musical, and give feedback during the sessions to the creative team. If you audition and are not selected to perform, you can still participate as an auditor. |
VIDEO AUDITIONS will be due by Thursday, March 6.
After you register, visit the Audition Information page for what to prepare and how to submit your audition video. REHEARSALS begin March 20 and will take place on Thursdays from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. A detailed schedule can be found HERE. PERFORMANCE: Saturday, May 10 PARTICIPATION FEE: $110 |
No refunds are given unless a production or workshop is cancelled by Aspire PAC.
